The firm was organized by
Robert A. Lucas in 1949, in an office building at
690 Broadway in downtown Gary, Indiana. The firm of
four (4) lawyers expanded and moved to 115 W 5th Ave
Gary, Indiana close to the county court system in
1961. Subsequently a satellite office was opened in
Merrillville, Indiana at 5800 Broadway, which
combined when the firm moved to the Twin Towers
office center, and the preeminent firm of Lucas,
Holcomb & Madrea thereafter has continued to grow
and serve clients in Merrillville and all of
Northwest Indiana. The law firm has a full-service
civil trial practice, with appeals in state and
federal courts concentrating on business and
commercial litigation, criminal defense, personal
injury, product liability, probate, hospital law,
physician practices and employment law. In
addition, the firm has represented banks and savings
and loan associations and handled multiple business
law matters including corporate law, bankruptcy,
commercial leases and commercial litigation.
Partners handle tax and estate planning, family and
domestic relations as well as real estate and zoning
matters. Two partners in the firm are legal
mediators and the office has several mediation
rooms. Several partners and affiliated lawyers are
and have been active in state and national lawyer
associations and served governmental agencies as
their attorneys. |
