Glenn R. Patterson
Glenn
R. Patterson was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on
October 3, 1951, graduated from Indiana University
with a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in
1973, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received a
Juris Doctorate decree, cum laude,
from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington,
Indiana in 1976. He was admitted to practice law in
the State of Indiana and before the United States
District Court for the Northern District of Indiana
in 1976, and was admitted to practice before the
United States Supreme Court in 1985. Mr. Patterson
is a member of the Lake County and Indiana State Bar
Associations, and is a fellow of the Indiana State
Bar Foundation. Mr. Patterson served in the United
States Army, 1st Lieutenant, USAR 1969-1984, and is
a licensed private pilot, USA, since 1989.
Practice Experience:
Real Estate Law, including extensive transactional
experience with undeveloped acreage, single and
multi-family residential, professional and
commercial office buildings and retail shopping
centers as well as industrial and warehouse
properties; construction contracting and related
transactional activities; representing sellers,
buyers, landlords and tenants involving complex and
sophisticated transactional documentation; land use
control proceedings including rezoning, zoning
variance, special use permits, subdivision approval,
and condominium development and conversion.
Business Organizations, including
corporate, partnership, limited partnership, limited
liability company, limited liability partnership,
joint venture, business trust and multi-tiered
entity organizational activity; organizational
restructure including mergers, divisional spin-offs,
varied entity combinations, reorganizations, and
entity dissolutions, liquidations, and wind-ups.
Finance and Capital Formation, including varied
and extensive experience in negotiating and
preparing complex and sophisticated loan transaction
documentation in all areas of asset-based financing
for commercial as well as private lending
activities, including mortgage lending, personal
property security interest collateral, multi-lender
loan participation and arrangements, capital
formation and financial planning for a variety of
business organization types involving a wide range
of business activities.
Commercial Law, including all areas of
multi-party commercial transactions, contract
negotiation and documentation, and representation of
buyers and sellers of businesses, as well as
franchising, including preparation of franchise
agreements, Uniform Franchise Offering Circulars,
and related documents.
Litigation,
including land title litigation, mortgage
foreclosures, quiet title proceedings, title
insurance company claims defense, easement and other
land use disputes.
