Daniel A. Medrea
Daniel A. Medrea is a partner in the firm and serves
on its Executive Committee. He received his
Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Notre
Dame in 1966, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude,
and his Juris Doctor Degree from Indiana University
Law School (Bloomington) in 1969. Thereafter, he
was admitted to the bars of the State of Indiana in
1969, the State of Illinois in 1970, and the State
of Florida in 1971. He is also admitted to practice
before the bars of the United States District Court
for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana,
the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh
Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Medrea has had
extensive experience in civil, business and
insurance defense litigation. He is a member of the
firm’s litigation team which handles a broad
spectrum of litigation in the State and Federal
Courts. In recent years, he has represented the
City of Whiting as special counsel involving various
litigation matters.
Mr. Medrea is a member of the Lake County Bar
Association, Indiana State Bar Association, American
Bar Association and the Bar Association for the
Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a past
chairman of the Young Lawyers Division of the
Indiana State Bar Association and a past member of
the Executive Council of the Young Lawyers Division
of the American Bar Association. Mr. Medrea was
honored by his colleagues in the Indiana State Bar
Association by having been elected to its Board of
Managers where he served as a member from 1981 to
1983.
Active in community affairs, he has been a longtime
member of the Board of Directors of the American Red
Cross (Lake County Chapter) and the Board of
Directors of the Merrillville Chamber of Commerce.
From 1990 through 2000, he was a member of the Board
of Directors of South Suburban Hospital in
Hazelcrest, Illinois, and for three years was
elected chairman of the Board.
Mr. Medrea resides in Flossmoor, Illinois, and
concentrates his practice in civil, business and
insurance defense litigation.
